Environmentally Sustainable and Net Zero Health Systems Lead | Strategic Advisor | Global Health

Sarah Lowden is a seasoned strategist and leader working in Global Health. Sarah currently leads the Climate and Health portfolio at the Canadian Medical Association with a focus on Net Zero and Sustainable Health Systems. Sarah holds a Graduate Diploma in Management, a Master’s Degree in International Health Leadership, and a certificate in Interprofessional Global Health all from McGill University.

Sarah sits on the advisory committee for CASCADES supporting Canada’s healthcare community to work towards climate-resilient, low-carbon, high-quality care, and is actively involved in the Choosing Wisely Canada and International communities. She is also an advisor at McGill University in the Graduate Certificate in Health Care Management Program and a volunteer Ski Patrol in the Laurentians. She represented the CMA at COP28 in Dubai UAE where there was the first-ever day focused on Health and Climate.

Sarah is particularly interested in driving change and finding solutions in the decarbonization of the health system, the health impacts of climate change, and pandemic response and recovery. Sarah is a passionate advocate for health equity and access to care and in shaping future health leaders.
