CEO and Founder

Rubén López is dedicated to advancing healthcare through innovative nanomedicine technologies. With a background in mechatronic, electronic engineering, and applied research, Rubén has over a decade of experience in microfluidics, lipid nanoparticle formulation, and cancer research.

In 2016, Rubén moved to Canada to pursue a Ph.D. at École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS), focusing on controlled liposome production using micromixers. His thesis and research at McGill University Health Centre enhanced his expertise in lipid-based nanoparticles for drug and gene delivery systems.

Motivated by the potential of mRNA therapies, Rubén founded Nanofacile Inc. in 2023 to tackle the challenges of high costs and complexity in nanomedicine R&D. Nanofacile’s mission is to democratize nanomedicine with an affordable, DIY solution that reduces preclinical development time from weeks to days. Their flagship product, “Nanomedicine in a Box,” includes optimized lipid recipes and a microfluidic device, enabling rapid therapy encapsulation with standard lab equipment.

Rubén has received numerous accolades, including the Honor Table at ÉTS, the Entrepreneurship in Oncology Scholarship from Oncopole and IRICoR, and the CESI Entrepreneurship Scholarship. He actively participates in community service and professional organizations such as AACR and ISEV. Additionally, he founded EACARE, an organization dedicated to advancing researchers’ careers both within and outside academia.
