Prior to Arrowsmith, Nic was most recently part of the partnering team at AbCellera, a Vancouver-based Antibody discovery company, where he reported into the VP BD and supported a number of initiatives. Nic was also head of UBC Skunkworx, where he was responsible for supporting four spin-outs to get seed-funded over a six month sprint. Prior to that, Nic led the Venture and core programming team at Creative Destruction Lab, where, with his team, he worked to identify, evaluate and develop relationships with expert mentors and ventures as well as supporting programming to accelerate the growth of alumni companies. All with a goal of getting more science out of academic labs and into the market!

For his PhD work in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Nic studied topoisomerases using yeast and fruit flies as model systems and he devised high throughput methods for interrogating small molecule bioactivity.

Nic enjoys trail running, skiing, reading, investing, and making pizza with his kids.
