Associate Professor

Sai Reddy is an Associate Professor (with tenure since 2018) at ETH Zurich in the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering. His research is focused on the emerging field of systems and synthetic immunology, with an aim towards developing technologies relevant for immunotherapy and biotechnology. He has developed a number of methods in systems immunology to greater understand adaptive immunity, in particular with a focus on immune repertoire sequencing. Prof Reddy has also established methods to reprogram immune cells for applications in protein engineering and cellular immunotherapy, with an emphasis on immunogenomic engineering. Prof. Reddy is Vice-Director of the Botnar Research Centre for Child Health, a new collaborative institute aimed towards developing and applying cutting-edge technologies in biomedical research for the aim of improving child health globally (since 2019). In addition to the academic community, he has done work supporting the biotechnology industry., including sponsored research projects and collaborations with companies such as Roche (CH), Novartis (CH), UCB-Celltech (UK). Finally, Prof. Reddy has founded two companies based on technologies developed in his academic research lab: (i) deepCDR Biologics for machine learning-guided antibody drug discovery and engineering (acquired by Alloy Therapeutics in 2021), (ii) Engimmune Therapeutics for T cell-based cancer immunotherapies, which recently closed a seed round of financing ($16 mio USD).
